It is warm all year round with temperatures ranging between 25 – 40°C (77 – 110°F). There’s one sure thing you won’t get cold with the Phuket Weather.
There are 2 seasons in Thailand, one is dry and hot: High Season and one is rainy… and hot: Low Season (monsoon).
Rainy season in Phuket: From May to November
Also called low season, it doesn’t rain everyday and if it does it’ll be occasionally a shower for 2 hours at the end of the day. It could rain all day for 2 days but it’s pretty rare. The sea has wave and is less clear but it makes surfer happy. It’s also good to play with the waves when having a dip.
The bright side are the lowest prices for flights/rentals and less holidaymakers.
Note that July and August have usually less rain, May, September and October are usually pretty wet.
Dry season in Phuket: From December to April
Also called high season, plenty of sun, blue sky and crystal clear sea. It could rain a day or 2 per month maximum. Sometimes it won’t rain for months. You have the guarantee to enjoy the beach and the sea. It’s a good reason to rent a luxury villa with a private pool and sea view.
March and April are the hottest month.
December and January are the busiest month in Phuket so expect to pay more for your stay.
Dry season is also the time of the year the Similan Islands are opened and when you can expect the best dives in Koh Phi Phi.
